The prophets Haggai and Zechariah brought a message of rebuilding to the people who had returned to Jerusalem after being in captivity. For nearly twenty years the people had been unable to muster the motivation, morale, and excitement to finish the work of rebuilding the temple. But now it was time and so God sends these two men with a message of courage and hope for the people as they complete their task. The message that reverberates throughout both books and this entire series is to rebuild with courage recognizing that God has purposed good for His people.
