Deadly Dispositions

We all desire happiness, but so few seem to really find lasting doses of it. The paths that promise happiness are endless and our desire for it can lead us down many that appear to hold promise for fulfillment and pleasure but end up delivering emptiness and pain. Few of us have not spent time in the classroom where these hard lessons are learned, but fewer still, it would appear, have learned the lessons well enough to know that every path that promises happiness will end up delivering. The book of Proverbs is filled with wise words that illuminate the path in our search for happiness. This series will look at the historic seven deadly sins; pride, envy, anger, sloth, greed, gluttony, and lust, which may better be understood as seven deadly paths promising happiness but delivering pain, and how the book of Proverbs teaches us to root these deadly motivations from our lives and demolish their devastating effects at the same time, freeing each of us to find authentic lasting happiness.
