Seniors Ministry

We have a very active Senior’s ministry at MorningStar Baptist Church. The Seniors are active in almost every aspect of the ministries of MorningStar Baptist Church and provide the backbone for all that we do. Not only are the seniors integrated into all the ministries of the church they do have their own programs and activities as well.

Senior Ministry Programs & Activities:

Upper Room: Sunday nights 5:30PM
This is a time of singing praises to God, praying together and learning together from the Word of God with the Pastor. We begin with a time of singing songs from hymnal by request. This is followed by a time of prayer together and then an interactive Bible lesson with our pastor. The goals of this time together is to maintain a strong relationship between the pastor and the seniors, and to prayerfully seek God for how the seniors can continue to be active in ministry in ways that encourage and mentor younger generations to assume the mantle of leadership in the church in ways that honor our godly heritage and stay true to the Word of God.

Monthly Luncheon: 2nd Thursday at 12PM
You won’t find a better lunch anywhere in Dayton! The fellowship is amazing, the food is delightful, and if you come for no other reason you’ve got to come just to taste test the fabulous desserts. These luncheons include games, fellowship, and a great program that is relevant to seniors.

Senior Game time: 4th Tuesday at 11:30AM
Seniors get together for lunch and various board games, card games, etc. And let me tell you, they are one competitive group!

Various field trips and excursions are also planned throughout the year.
