According to a recent survey of families in our church, we all agree that the primary place for spiritual nurture and development is in the home. On the other hand, we are still depending primarily on church programs to meet the spiritual needs. It's not that we don't want the gospel to be the center of our families. The question is, HOW? This year, we are making FIT personal.

The Story The whole family, the whole Bible

MorningStar Baptist Church is going to embark on a chronological journey through the Bible from January to September of 2012. Many followers of Jesus Christ these days struggle to spend time reading the Bible. Studies reveal that most Americans, including those who regularly attend church, are essentially ignorant of the Bible. We believe that many struggle to read the Bible because they are intimidated by how all the parts of the Bible come together. This churchwide experience will be a journey through the Bible chronologically.

Black belt instructors Adam and Randy Cunigan are offering free martial arts classes every Monday evening from 6 to 8 pm. Ages 7 and up are welcome to participate and the classes are open to the public. It's great exercise and a great way to learn self-defense for boys, girls, men, and women. For more information contact the church office at office@morningstardayton.org or by calling 937-885-1206.

MorningStar Baptist Church will be heading to Haiti in August to help build homes for those who have been living in tent communities since the earthquake hit Haiti nearly two years ago. Each home costs $4000 to build and in one week a team of 10 to 15 can build 3 homes. So, we are seeking to raise $12,000 that will go entirely to the building of three homes while we are in Haiti. If you would like to make a tax deductible contribution please contact the church office at office@morningstardayton.org or call 937-885-1206.
